Q&A: Shooting And More!

Happy Friday, Zed Heads!

It’s been another awesomely productive week here at the Lab! While the team has been steadily cruising along on development (and putting up sweet, zombie-themed holiday decorations), I’ve been getting up to speed on design and hitting fansites to get to know you guys.

As I was catching up on forum posts, I noticed that many of you have questions for us. We’re still early in development (which means we can’t talk in great detail about certain topics), but I did find a number of things that can be clarified.

We’re In This Together

I like horror. A lot. In certain circumstances, this is great. But when I end up animatedly babbling on about the awesome brain squeezing scene in City of the Living Dead or the time the dude ate that revolting bowl of custard in Dead Alive, I occasionally get the impression that some people aren’t really there in the moment with me.

The first movie I actually remember seeing was Night of the Living Dead. I sat at a friend’s house and watched it, absorbing every detail – from the basement trowel scene to the human barbecue truck shot – with terrified fascination. I thought it was freaking awesome, and I wanted more.

The Way You Make Me Feel

I don’t like MMOs.

I love the idea of MMOs. The idea of playing in a massive, persistent world with my best friends and folks from all over the world is incredibly appealing. Current MMOs offer the world, and tons of players, but I’m an action gamer and that’s just not what MMOs are right now.

I’ve been dreaming about what an MMO could be since I was a n00b designer. In my mind I always pictured piling into a car with my friends and tearing off into a massive world. They would lean out of the car, shooting and swinging bats.
