Some of you sharp-eyed survivalists have noticed screenshots floating around the internet, with the tag “State of Decay Scavenger Hunt #XX.” What? What does that mean? It means we want to give away a few more advance copies of the game, that’s what.
Here is the deal. There are a total of 38 screenshots hidden around the internet. Here’s one to get you started:
Every shot should have a caption like that.
People on my media list that responded to my invitation each received a shot and a badge declaring them official participants in the Hunt. The only rule for them was that the shot must be posted within one click of the front page of their site. They don’t have to give out hints on Facebook or Twitter. They don’t have to make the link obvious. They don’t even have to use the badge if they don’t want to. And some of them are EVIL. They’ve hidden their shots in announcement dropdowns, literal easter eggs, in the middle of articles that aren’t about SOD, at the bottom of screenshot galleries, and more. Furthermore, this is a global game. Not every participant in the Hunt speaks English.
Hey, State of Decay is about survival, and survival is hard. The Hunt wasn’t meant to be easy.
Here is the game: Find all the screenshots. First one to send me a complete list of the links (to sanya at undeadlabs dot com) wins a code for a copy of the game. If no one sends me a complete list, the person who finds the most by Friday, 5/31, at noon PDT will be the winner.
If you find at least 25, I’ll put your name in a hat. I’ll choose five winners at random from that hat.
Please note! I’ve noticed reprint websites are picking up the shots. In order to count as a find, you must give me the link of the actual participant. The reputable reprint sites always cite their source. Follow the link back to the original.
Finally, #17 is now live.
