Are you going to be in Seattle for PAX West, or are you close enough to Seattle to make a day trip out of it on September 2, 2016?
Are you at least 18?
Are you a member of the human race?
If you can answer yes to all three of those things, YOU are hereby invited to enter the Get Your Head in the Game Contest!
We aren’t making a game with superheroes and supermodels saving the world. We’re making a world where ordinary people are just trying to get by. If you saw Matt’s brilliant article last week, you already know how we’re getting characters into State of Decay 2 five times faster than ever before. And Matt himself volunteered to scan a few lucky members of our community, to make them into survivors.
Or “fresh” zombies. Maybe both. You’ll just have to wait and find out which when the game launches in 2017.
Anyway. Here’s what you do. (After you read the rules.) Post to the comment thread (linked below) with a couple of sentences telling us what your skills and traits would be if you were a survivor in SOD2, and a photo.
Any photo is fine, but bonus points for wearing SOD gear, a survival outfit, or holding your favorite blunt melee weapon. (No guns or knives for this contest. Don’t worry, my dear weaponry enthusiasts, your day will come.)
There are THREE ways to win!
– One winner will be randomly drawn from all eligible entries. No one survives without luck. So, are you lucky?
– We’ll pick a bunch of our favorite entries and have the community vote for their favorite. If you’re good for community morale, you could get a boost.
– We’ll choose our own favorite, as the Judge’s Choice.
Can’t be in Seattle, but want to participate? Just put “OUT OF TOWN” at the top of your entry, and we’ll put your name into a drawing for a shirt.
I do have one bit of bad news for some of you: Our software can’t cope with facial hair of any kind. You bearded types do not have to shave your face rugs just to enter the contest, but if you win, you will need a clean sweep before being scanned for the game.
The contest will run starting right now, and go through the morning of August 29. Good luck, everyone!
