Exclamation I've seen the new gameplay footage that will be shown Sunday!

[UPDATE] The video is a minute long but only 47 seconds of gameplay.

    Part 1:

The video starts and already we get a glimpse of the gardening gameplay, along with some soothing guitar music. A woman facing the screen, wearing a brown leather jacket, olive green cargo pants, a tan military style cap, and a backpack appears to be standing near this place seen in this picture:

In the video there is no garden behind her...yet.

On the screen I see a few things that already catch my eye. What looks to be a small sheet of rectangular paper(landscape view) in the upper left hand corner of the screen with some symbols on it. In the upper left hand corner of this sheet, is a house looking symbol. Beside the house, to the right, is the word “Morale”. Under the word “Morale” is a blue bar which has to be the morale level bar. Under each of those are symbols with numbers by each. We can probably assume these are the characters skills and their level. They are, from left to right then next row:

First Row: (FOOD)Fork and Knife crisscrossed making an “X” with 0 next to it. (MEDICAL)A “+” symbol with the number 4. (AMMO)Last on the row is a symbol of 3 bullets which have the number 3.

Second Row: (CARRY or GATHERING)Looks like a triangle made up of 6 dots with the number 25 next to it. (STORAGE)A barrel possibly, with the number 0. (SECURITY)And a circle with a star in the middle and the number 0.

At the bottom left hand corner we have the item we've all seen in the “Spy Cam” footage, the mini map! In the circle the character is represented by an arrow pointing in the direction they are facing. On the mini map behind this character is a green house symbol, which to me that means a house/building you have made your base. Hugging the left side of the circle I see a blue bar. I can only assume this is the stamina/energy bar. Hugging the right side of the circle is a red bar, more than likely health.

While she stands there off to the left of the screen with nothing in hand and a small tab pops out under the "Morale" sheet with the words “Building a Garden”. Instantly this character has a book/journal pop into her right hand and a menu has opened up on the empty right side of the screen. This has so much to look at it's crazy good! Just WOW! I'm gonna try to describe this as best I can, so PLEASE bear with me.

This book/journal is the menu. What I mean by that is that you are seeing the left side of this book as the menu. With the book you see 2 buttons up and to the left of it. The top one reads “Details” and has the green A button next to it. The bottom one reads “Close” and has the red B button next to it. Here's where there's a flood of info. This one page of the journal has a tab with the word “People” on it. I will try to do this in the order that it is laid out:

Top half of the Page :

From left to right: LB symbol, a circle and waist high shape with arms resembling a person, a five point solid star, a book that's partial open, what looks like a crate or box, the same symbol of the house we seen on the “Morale” sheet, then the RB button.

Under that a group of 9 blocks with people's faces show. The first block shows a face pic of the character being used at that moment. Right under the character chosen is a 360 controller....I have no idea why that's there. Next to that character photo, in 2 rows stacked, are the faces of the players you have rescued, with 4 characters in each row and a slide bar next to the last players for scrolling through the characters.

The next thing under the photos is the chosen characters name "Sarah Jordan" on the left and under the last 2 characters is a pink heart with the number 85 next to it and next to that is a blue lighting bolt with the number 94 next to it.

Under the characters name is a lime green symbol with block people on it and the word “Friend” next to it. On the right side under the heart and bolt, each has a bar that has a speck of pink in one and a speck of blue in the other. I'm not too sure what these bars are for.

All that info and it's just the top half of the page in the journal!

    Fleshblight muses --

    Thirty seconds!

    Uhh ... err ... umm ... okay.

I'd much prefer to see a "full blown" analysis of a 15 or 20 or even 30-minute gameplay video.

    But thirty-freakin'-seconds!

    This is disturbing.

    FB

Addendum -- please, please, PLEASE tell me that UL is scheduled to reveal more than just a 30-second video of farming gameplay at PAX. I've had zero time to keep abreast of all things "State of Decay" at PAX, but for those of you who are in the know, please, please, PLEASE set Daddy Fleshblight's mind to rest about this. Even if you have to lie.

    Bottom half of the page:

At the top of this bottom half we have what appears to be a list. In this list are 3 things. The top item is a silhouette of a bat with the words “No Melee Weapon” next to it. Under that is a silhouette of a pistol(a glock/9MM, I don't know for sure which one) with the words “No Gun”. Under that is a silhouette of a standing person with the words “You”. Under that and in the middle is the word “TRAITS” in bold and a long line under it. In this area there are 8 separate lines, 2 rows of 4 lines. On the first line in the first row is the word “Doctor” and what looks like a syringe symbol at the end of that line. On the first line in the second row is the word “Travel” and nothing at the end of this row. There are 6 other lines, but nothing is on them.

Under the traits area is a box with rounded edges. This appears to be the character's dialogue or thought area. Sarah's thought: “Still can't wrap her head around what's going on.”

On the bottom left side of the page in the journal, there is an area that looks like a tab, but bigger than the “People” tab. This is your backpack tab letting you know some quick info. In this “tab” as we will call it, are 3 areas. The largest of the 3 is a top of the two smaller ones, which are somewhat equal in size to each other. This area of the tab is your backpack inventory. Sarah is only carrying 2 medicine bottles, shown by a bottle with a cross on it and the number 2 under it. At the bottom of the largest box/area is a small blue square with a white “weight” symbol and to the right of that it says 6.0 lbs. Under the larger box we see 2 more boxes. The one on the left shows Sarah's face again and the one on the right shows the type of backpack Sarah is carrying(a small white school sized backpack).

All of this in just the first 2 seconds of the video!!

Whom ever is playing SoD then presses LB, as this switches the page in the journal to the last icon(the house) that's at the top of the page. The “Details” word by the A green button has now changed to “Choose Facility” and the “Close” word remains by the red B button. Now we see a new page with new information.

The tab that once read “PEOPLE” now reads “HOME”. The very top of the page has the LB thru RB menu as before, but now there is new stuff underneath.

Under the LB/RB menu is the underlined word “Available”. Under that is the word “Outdoor” and below that are the words “We could put just about anything here as long as we put a tent over it.”

Under the quote is the underlined words “Available Facilities” Under those words are 7 gray boxed icons arranged from left to right with a small arrow following the last box. Each box has a symbol in it and they are(from right to left ) a garage type icon, a shelf icon, a plus sign next to what looks like a bottle or battery(standing up), a church icon, an oven icon, a pallet with 6 boxes icon, and a wheel-barrel icon. We find out what these are a few seconds later.

Below those icons is a map layout of the area Sarah now calls home, a church. At the top of the map are the words “Alls Hope Church”. On the map I can see a couple of the box icons previously mentioned, along with new ones, in and around the church area. Among the new ones I see, are a bed icon and a radio tower icon, placed inside the church. There is also an oven icon inside the church as well. Outside I also see 2 new icons. One is a watch tower icon placed in the corner of the outpost and a vehicle icon placed on the outside of the fenced area. There are also 2 garage icons placed inside the outpost making it a total of 7 square icons all together. There is also a green icon box that has nothing in it, as this is the cursor to choose the area to place the facility, this time it being the garden. Which also happens to be the area in the photo provided. At the bottom of this map is the underlined word “Outpost” with 4 icon box slots under it, each empty in this video.

I assume the player hit the A button for "Choose Facility", cause now there's a white shack with just a roof and no walls where the empty space use to be, the “Choose Facility” word has changed to "Build", the gazebo icon is now highlighted, and the map has changed to an info section with a scroll bar on the right. This section is headed with the words “SET UP WORK AREA” in white letters with a grayish background behind the title. Below the title is the number 5 with the triangle of six dots(which I mentioned earlier), the number 2 next to...I dunno what that is(lol), and the number 3 next to the circle with the star(again, as mentioned before) and to right of this is the word “15 minutes” with a clock icon. A line separates this section from the last. Under the line is the phrase “We could make the things we need to fight zombies instead of having to scavenge for everything.” Another line divider. Under the line is a green icon with a white silhouette of a sawhorse. Next to this icon are the words “Dedicated Work Area”. Under these words in smaller type is “100% faster construction. +10 Material storage cap” with capacity being cut off.

That's it for part 1. Stay tuned for more of an inside look at the new gameplay footage.

    Part 2:

The player then quickly goes through each “Available Facilities” icon, showing each icon's name below. At the same time we see structures appear behind the character changing with each selection. The information below the icons change reflecting the "Facility" icon selected:

The second icon: “SET UP SLEEPING AREA” Under the title we have the same symbols as before(5-triangle dots, 2-dunno, and 3-circle with the star) and "10 min" is at the right hand side of those symbols and numbers. Under those it reads “The more people we have, the more beds we need.” Another line divider and under it is a green icon with what looks like a rolled sleeping bag. Besides the icon it says “Cots and Futons” Under that “Not as good as beds, but it's something.” White tent with beds show up behind the character.

The third icon: “SET UP MEDICAL AREA” Under the title we have the same symbols as before this time with different amounts(10-triangle dots, 2-dunno, and 20-circle with the star) and "30 min" is at the right hand side of those symbols and numbers. Under those it reads “Having a medical area would help people recover from wounds faster. REQUIRES 10 MEDICINE.” Another line divider and under it is a green icon with a white bottle and cross on it. Besides the icon it says “Dedicated Medical Area”. Under that “+25 Medicine capability. 50% faster healing rate.” Medical tent with big red cross is seen behind the character.

Fourth icon: “SET UP TRAINING AREA” Under the title we have the same symbols as before this time only the circle with star changes(10-triangle dots, 2-dunno, and 10-circle with the star) and "10 min" is at the right hand side of those symbols and numbers. Under those it reads “A training area would be good for physical fitness and honing combat skills.” Another line divider and under it are 2 green icons this time. One with a silhouette of a person lifting a barbell over their head and the other has a heart with the heartbeat line through it. Besides the first icon it says “Exercise Area”. Under that “+10 Stamina for everyone.”. Beside the second icon it says “Fitness Regimen”. Under that “Add an addition +10 Stamina for everyone. REQUIRE” A take down car port with tan covering is shown behind the character.

Fifth icon: “SET UP COOKING AREA” Under the title we have the same symbols as before this time only the circle with star changes(10-triangle dots, 2-dunno, and 13-circle with the star) and "1d, 00 hrs, 00" is at the right hand side of those symbols and numbers. Under those it reads “Having a clean area for food improves health and protects against illness. REQUIRES WORKSHOP.” There are no icons under the line this time. Another white tent shows up behind the character.

Sixth icon: “BUILD STORAGE AREA” Under the title we have the same symbols as before this time only the triangle and circle with star change(20-triangle dots, 2-dunno, and 10-circle with the star) and "1 hrs, 00 min" is at the right hand side of those symbols and numbers. Under those it reads “Would increase our storage capacity for all the key survival resources (Food, Medicine, Building Materials, Ammunition, and Fuel). REQUIRES WORKSHOP” Again, there are no icons under the line. Same white tent shows up behind the character, but with different items inside.

Seventh icon: “CREATE A GARDEN” Under the title we have the same symbols as before this time only the circle with star changes(10-triangle dots, 2-dunno, and 3-circle with the star) and "1 min" is at the right hand side of those symbols and numbers. Under those it reads “A garden would let us grow some of our own food instead of always having to scavenge.” Another line divider and under it is a green icon with a white silhouette of a plant. Besides the icon it says “Crops”. Under that “Produces food.” Behind the character pops up the garden we see in the photo provided, yet this garden has yet to be farmed.

The player then hits the A button for “Build” and a time bar shows up right where the "Facility" icons use to be. Above the time bar it reads “Create a Garden” and below it on the left side is the time "60 sec" that counts down while the time cursor moves to the right. The player cancels the journal menu and turns to head to the un-farmed garden. There in the garden are the bags of seed and a few tires. The time changes in the video and you see the garden grow from nothing to full grown food in a couple of stages. You see the AI walk past and work in the garden while the changes are happening. Sarah's camera view pans right and you see the church side, people inside, other AI talking to each other, and another work station behind them. During this pan you see two phrases which I think are missions followed by white dots. One reads “Zombie Hunt” and the other “Bastards never stood a chance!” Sarah then runs to the front of the church and heads up the stairs to go inside and the video fades away.

[UPDATED] If you want to see the church that I'm referring to watch this SoD video. The church is at the 0:41 second mark!!

The rules are the Survivor Cells (the ones that did the challenge by the deadline) get tonight and tomorrow all by themselves. They're allowed to write about it, but not show it.

They can share it with anyone they want starting Sunday morning, and are in fact encouraged to share it.

We will put it up late Monday on our YouTube channel just to cover all the bases
